At Hum and Strum Music School, we believe that learning music is not just about mastering an instrument but also about building confidence and embracing the joy of performing. That’s why we host our Music Room Session—a weekly live performance event that takes place every Saturday or Sunday. This session is a special platform where a selected group of students, who have successfully completed their music lessons, get the opportunity to showcase their progress. To ensure fairness and diversity, we do not repeat students every week, allowing a mix of beginners and experienced learners to perform. Additionally, we celebrate the achievements of our students by distributing completion certificates to those who have finished their respective music grades.
The Music Room Session serves a deeper purpose beyond just performance. It helps students understand their own learning journey, while giving parents and the audience an opportunity to witness their child’s musical growth. More importantly, it nurtures confidence and stage presence, eliminating the fear of performing in front of an audience. Week after week, this experience fosters a culture of encouragement and motivation, making each session an important milestone in a student’s musical development. These sessions not only help in refining their musical skills but also prepare them for bigger opportunities in the future.
Our senior-level students play a significant role in these events, especially during special performances. In turn, the senior students get an opportunity to refine their craft further by mastering their skills in a live setting.
